Hoops and Hoopla, Festival, and Solo and Ensemble Festival

Dear band and orchestra students and parents,

We are so excited for the upcoming HCS vs. ZCS staff basketball game. Invite everyone you know!
We are planning on all Florida bound band and orchestra students. Students who participate will get in free.

1. We are in need of concessions donations to help us raise the last bit of our goal for this trip. Please sign up here if you would be willing to help out.

2. We received our festival dates and times. Symphonic Orchestra is on Wednesday, February 26 and Symphonic Band is on Thursday, February 27. See the detailed itinerary for those days here.

3. Here is the solo and ensemble schedule for February 8. Other information I will communicate directly to those participants and their parents via email.

Great work! No pep band. Florida meeting date.

Hello band and orchestra students and parents,

Just three quick notes.

1. Great job at recital night last night! Solo and ensemble students are making great progress.

2. No pep band tonight.

3. All Florida bound parents and students please put Monday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. on your calendar. This will be a meeting for at least one parent per family. Students are also strongly encouraged to attend. We will meet in the HCHS auditorium.

Pep Band and HCS vs. ZCS fun!

Dear band and orchestra students and parents,

I hope you are enjoying Winterim this week! Here are a few announcements and reminders.

1. Pep Band is tomorrow night at the Civic Center (150 W 8th St, Holland, MI 49423). As usual, all students that are playing in pep band get in the games free. We will play at halftime of the girls game, in between games, and at halftime of the boys game. Please plan to be on stage at least 3 minutes before half time. (6:30ish) I have drums and flip folders loaded in the trailer and will have them at the game. We will need student help with unloading the trailer. We usually gather on stage part way thru the girls game first half to unload the trailer.

2. Add the evening of Saturday, February 1 on your calendars for the fundraiser for our Florida trip. This will be a 7:00 p.m. HCS staff vs. ZCS staff basketball game and much more. We will have a student pep band, orchestral national anthem, and will need lots of student volunteers. All student participants will get into the game free. We are hoping to make up our last bit of our fundraising goal with your help on February 1.

3. It has been so good hearing the solo and ensemble students this week, you are making great progress! Keep up the good work! Recital night is on Monday evening in the band/orchestra and choir rooms.

4. All family ticket orders for Disney must be submitted with payment by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13. See link here (same link as Dec. 12 blog). See prices on Dec. 12 blog entry. Tickets prices should be the without tax amount.

5. If any students are not planning to return on the bus from Florida, please fill out this form by Monday.
