Memorial Day Parade and End of the Year Wrap Up

Dear band and orchestra students and parents,

I am so proud of your work with the concerts last week! Great work!

Here is some important info to wrap up this year.

1. Here is the Memorial Day Parade information. We consider it an honor to be able to take part in an event thanking so many who have given their lives to protect the freedoms that we enjoy.

2. Band and orchestra members please be sure to turn in all uniform parts and accessories in their appropriately labeled uniform bag or hat box. Marching band uniforms will be turned in after the Memorial Day Parade. There is a uniform rack and table set up by trophy cases (where Mrs. Redder usually does uniform work) for you to turn in your uniforms. Everything must be turned in by the end of the day Wednesday.

3. All band and orchestra students, please be sure to take your instruments home tomorrow (this Friday). You will not need them at school next week.

4. Next year's concert dates are already set on the instrumental music calendar. You can find them linked here. Subscribe to this calendar to be sure you don't miss anything.

Thank you!
Mr. VB

A cooler parade and concerts coming soon!

Hello band and orchestra students and parents,

So proud of all of these musicians! You are all doing such great work!

1. Don't forget that the info for Saturday's parade is different from Thursday's parade. Here is your Tulip Time marching information for concert and symphonic bands (this also contains info for MS bands). There is a lot of information, but please check it over carefully. It has been a couple years since we have all done this.

2. We are in need of assistance next week for the band and orchestra concerts. Parents, please sign up to help here.

Tulip Time info, summer lesson sign up, calendar reminder

Hello band and orchestra students and parents,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying all of the signs of spring!

1. Here is your Tulip Time marching information for concert and symphonic bands (this also contains info for MS bands). There is a lot of information, but please check it over carefully. It has been a couple years since we have all done this.

2. I won't repost everything from the April 26 blog post, but be sure to keep those dates in front of you. This calendar/page on the HCHS website (also linked on this blog in the upper right under links) has all of the information you need about upcoming events and outside of the school day rehearsals. Scroll down a little and the info is there and you can subscribe to the calendar so it shows up on your calendar.

3. Marching uniforms will be hanging in the hall for band students to pick up on Tuesday, May 10. Make sure you make a plan to get this home.

4. Sign up for summer lessons here! Summer is a great time to improve your musical skills! There are so many details and instrument specific things that we can cover in summer lessons that are tricky to get to in a full band or orchestra setting. We can also help you prepare for solo and ensemble festival or scholarship auditions or learn a new instrument!

5. All orchestra members are required to attend our 7:00 a.m. rehearsal on Friday, May 13. We will be preparing for our end of the year concert.

Thanks!
Scott
