Florida and Festival reminders

Hello band and orchestra parents and students,

I hope you are well, it was great to meet with all of the Florida bound people last night!
Here are a few notes and reminders.

1. If you are not returning to Holland, Michigan on the bus please fill out this form. A quick clarification, you can do a pick up at the hotel at 8:00 a.m. or at 12:00 p.m. at the church.

3. I forgot to mention that Florida bound kids will need money for 3 fast food stops on the way down to Florida and 3 for the way back (if you are returning on the bus). Everything else is covered unless kids hope to purchase souvenirs or snacks. Some parents have suggested Visa gift cards (HCS Trip sells them) are a good way to go since some (much) of Disney is cashless.

4. We may do a fast food stop on our way back from MSBOA Festival next week so symphonic band and symphonic orchestra kids should bring along cash if they would like to purchase anything. See my last blog post for the breakdown of festival times.

5. Orchestra's last full orchestra rehearsal for festival will be family flex on Monday.

Thank you!
Mr. VB

Rose Park visit, Florida meeting, and Festival Performances!

Hello band and orchestra parents,

I hope you are doing well! I am so proud of our solo and ensemble students, they all scored one of the top two scores!

1. The orchestra is going to Rose Park tomorrow. All orchestra (ww/brass/perc included) students need to be at HCHS by 8 a.m., the bus leaves at 8 a.m. If you are meeting us by 8:15 a.m. at Rose Park please be sure to email me tonight (if you haven't already).

2. Remember that there is a Florida trip meeting for parents and students in on Thursday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the HCHS auditorium for students and parents. This is an important time to meet chaperons and get info. Here is the parent packet that we will hand out.

3. We are in need of a couple parent volunteers to help out on festival day for the symphonic band on Wednesday, February 28 and for the symphonic orchestra on Thursday, February 29. On both days we could use 1 person to walk with the groups and 1 person to drive the school van and trailer. Both individuals would also be able to watch performances. Please email me if you can help out!

4. Below is the schedule for the two days that we are at MSBOA band/orchestra festival.
