Dear band and orchestra,
Happy New Year!
1. Pep band is tomorrow night at the Civic Center. If you forget to bring your instrument home after school you can meet me at school between 5:50 and 5:55 p.m. when I am picking up the van/trailer from the high school. Here is the info I sent in the email a few days ago about pep band.
We are planning on three pep band performances for basketball this year. These pep band performances will include free admission to the game, free snacks/drinks provided by the HCHS band and fun playing pep band tunes. We will require all band members to participate. Thanks to all who communicated promptly about absences.*Friday, Jan. 10, Friday, Jan. 17, Friday, Feb. 21There are no special requirements for what to wear.Please arrive by 6:15 p.m. to unload the trailerplay at halftime of girls gameplay in between gamesplay at halftime of the guys game and load the trailer and grab snacksWe will be done by about 8:30 p.m.
2. Please come and enjoy listening to HCHS student solos, duets, trios, and quartets, and quintets as they perform for you on Monday, February 3 in the HCHS band/orchestra and choir rooms. Kids are signing up for their times now and the schedule will be finalized in a week or so. See schedule for recital night below.
3. Solo and ensemble festival students, here is the info I emailed to you a couple days ago.

4. Symphonic Band and Symphonic Orchestra will be performiong at the MSBOA band and orchestra festival this year. Parents, friends and family are invited to attend. Here are our days/times. We will provide bussing to and from these events.
Symphonic Band - Wednesday, March 5 at 9:00 a.m. at West Ottawa High School
Symphonic Orchestra - Thursday, March 6 at 10:15 a.m. at West Ottawa High School
5. A quick reminder: The HCHS Symphonic Orchestra is excited to have been invited to help lead the opening worship service for the annual conference, the Calvin Symposium on Worship. This is a conference that gathers worshipers from across Canada, the United States, and around the world to learn about worship.
The orchestra will take part in the Symposium worship service on Wednesday, February 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Calvin University Fine Arts Center. All friends and family are invited to attend the worship service free of charge!Thank you!
